Tramonto Siciliano is an original Palazzo di Pietra Studio artwork inspired by the changing colors of the Sicilian landscape as daylight fades toward the sea.
Hundreds of individually cut wooden blocks create bands of charcoal, deep terracotta, dusty rose, soft cream, sun-washed yellow and Mediterranean blues. The transition from warm earth and sky tones into cooler shades gives the piece the feeling of an abstract horizon without depicting a specific landscape.
Every block is individually cut, painted, arranged and placed by hand. Subtle differences in height and angle create an irregular dimensional surface that interacts with the light around it.
The result is an artwork that changes throughout the day.

Inspired by Sicily
Sicily is a landscape of contrasts—warm stone, sun-bleached architecture, terracotta earth, intense light and the blues of the Mediterranean.
Tramonto Siciliano translates those colors into an abstract composition.
Rather than depicting a particular place, the horizontal layers suggest a distant horizon: the final warmth of the sun above and cooler Mediterranean tones below.
From across the room, the colors blend into broad bands. Move closer and hundreds of individual wooden surfaces emerge.
Art That Changes With the Light
The dimensional construction is an essential part of the artwork.
Individual blocks project from the surface at slightly different angles, creating small highlights and shadows. As natural light changes throughout the day—or as you move around the room—the texture becomes more or less pronounced.
The artwork is never completely static.
