Terra is an original dimensional wood artwork celebrating the natural character of wood through texture, movement and light.
Hundreds of individually cut wooden blocks come together to form an organic surface of warm earth tones. Each block is positioned at a different angle, allowing light to move across the artwork and reveal constantly changing highlights and shadows.
Rather than creating an image from the blocks, Terra allows the wood itself to become the artwork.
Variations in grain, tone and texture remain visible throughout the piece, while the dimensional surface gives it a sculptural quality that changes depending on the viewing angle and time of day.

From across the room, hundreds of blocks blend into a rich field of warm wood tones.
Up close, the composition reveals individual grain patterns, subtle color variations and changes in the direction of each block.
Natural and directional light creates another dimension. As light travels across the raised surfaces, some blocks become illuminated while others fall into shadow, allowing the appearance of the artwork to evolve throughout the day.

The irregularities aren't hidden. Grain, texture, subtle differences in tone and the marks of the handmade process become part of the composition.
