An iconic image transformed into something entirely tactile.
This handcrafted wood-block artwork is inspired by René Magritte’s famous The Son of Man, reinterpreted using hundreds of individually arranged wooden blocks. Rather than reproducing the original painting on a flat surface, the image is constructed in three dimensions, allowing the natural texture, depth, and imperfections of the wood to become part of the artwork.
The familiar bowler hat, green apple, red tie, and dark suit are recreated through carefully arranged blocks, while the surrounding tones provide a soft, atmospheric background.
Every piece is assembled by hand in our studio, making each artwork slightly unique. Variations in wood grain, block shape, texture, and finish are part of what makes handmade wood art special.
